How to Make Your Gluten-Free Pantry Smile

How to Make Your Gluten-Free Pantry Smile

Your gluten-free pantry can make or break your gluten-free kitchen.

Really!

Your pantry, or area where you keep your gluten-free food, needs to be set up a particular way to keep cross-contamination at bay. Did you realize this?

Kids at home?

Think about how your kids grab a snack from the pantry. They shove their hand inside a bag or box and walk away leaving a trail of raisins, cereal, or crackers on the floor.  Super annoying!

Now think about having gluten-filled foods and gluten-free foods in the same space – same scenario. What happens here?

Well, my friend, you just cross-contaminated your safe gluten-free foods. (Those gluten-filled foods fall right into the gluten-free foods – oh no.)

You need to designate a safe space to keep your gluten-free foods without the worry of cross-contaminating the food you need to stay healthy.

Now is a great time to think about boosting

the health of our gluten-free pantry.

What does that mean?

More than ever people are thinking about their health – how to stay healthy during this pandemic, which is more than just having gluten-free food at home. And, others are eating more than ever to deal with these trying times and worrying about the effects that may come from it.

What foods are you grabbing right now?  Reaching for junk and processed foods?

Or do you keep healthier alternatives on-hand to diminish the junk?

Change your Plate to Change your Health

One way to create health in your life is to change your plate to change your health.

Choosing healthier options will boost your health by offering your body the nutrients, minerals, and vitamins it needs.

Filling your pantry with healthier options

changes your health for the better.

Think about items to fill your pantry that can help it smile and boost your health. A few suggestions would be beans, rice, pasta, dried fruits and nuts, gluten-free oats, quinoa, canned tomatoes . . . .

Just with these simple items, you can create multiple dinners by adding in veggies and proteins from the fridge or freezer.

Simple meals for simple times

How will you stock your pantry moving forward?
