Living Gluten-Free

First of all, living with food allergies is serious business.

But, following a gluten-free lifestyle doesn’t have to be a disadvantage for you, or cause you extra stress and overwhelm. We have a lot to be thankful for living gluten-free.

Remember this:

You can live gluten-free and not be full of stress with every bite you take

There are so many products available now that are Certified gluten-free. With the labeling laws, we know we are getting food that is safe for us to consume.  Learning to read the labels is very helpful. Our best practice is to start with what nature provides, delicious fruits and veggies.  But, as I have stated you can find some tasty, healthy gluten-free foods on the market – just don’t fall into the trap and eat all gluten-free junk food!  If you are offered something, and aren’t sure if it is safe for you, just say, “No Thanks!”  No stress!  And, do not feel badly about this!  You are protecting YOUR body.

You can create a stronger body, have more energy, and feel great

Once you get the hang of finding, preparing and eating delicious, healthy gluten-free foods, you will definitely feel a difference in your body.  As your body gets stronger and healthier, the gas, bloating, and all the other awful symptoms should start to subside, and hopefully go away.  Being mindful can help you learn which foods agree with you and which do not as you travel this journey.  Soon you can have more energy!  Your body will not be using your energy to heal the damage, but instead giving you that energy to fill your day.  It is an awesome feeling to go through the day and feel great!  Don’t forget that you can and should feel terrific!

You can meet friends out for coffee, tea or dinner and get though it successfully

There are so many restaurants, deli’s, bakeries and coffee shops that are now offering SAFE gluten-free menu options.  Do your homework beforehand.  Call and make sure they have policies in place to prepare and serve your food in the correct manner. It is nice to have a night off from cooking at home, but always make sure it is a safe bet! Thankfully, we now have lots of options.

You can shop for healthy gluten-free foods and NOT break the bank

Now that so many stores are offering gluten-free products, we have many options on where to shop. Your dollars can be saved and spread, even on a gluten-free diet.  From the big grocery stores, little Mom & Pop neighborhood stores, big Club shopping and on-line deals, you can really do much better now with finding the foods we need. I cover all of these shopping know-hows and tips in my FREE 5 Day Gluten-Free Shopping Challenge.

You can have your health back

As you continue your journey of gluten-free living, by eating the right foods, and taking care of yourself, you become stronger and healthy.  It is hard for many to understand that by eating the wrong (unhealthy, processed) foods, we are causing devastating effects on our bodies.  By changing this, by choosing foods to nourish our bodies, you can gain your energy and feel great.  For some it takes awhile.  For others, it is a faster relief.  The most important part is that you take that first step.  Drop the crappy foods. Eat real, whole, fresh, nourishing foods that deliver strength to your body.  You will FEEL it! We really can be thankful for gluten-free living.
