Fall is definitely one of my favorite seasons. Are you as obsessed with apples and pumpkins as I am?
So many favorites this time of the year!
The beautiful colors are so peaceful to watch as they become more vibrant as the days pass.
The cooler temps let me grab out my comfy sweaters and throws to wrap for snuggling up on the couch.
Fat orange pumpkins perfect for carving – or eating!
The crisp bite of a freshly picked apple!
Apple picking is one of our family’s favorite fall activities.
Who knew that this year you would have to reserve tickets to go picking!
Due to this new regulation, we missed out on our usual farm . . . but BONUS . . . we found a new farm we just LOVED!
Last weekend we had the perfect apple-picking weather and came home with a mound of delicious crisp apples to enjoy.
The first thing the kids said when we returned home was, “let’s make an apple pie!”
Have you ever made an apple pie with FARM FRESH apples? This little step makes a big difference!
Baking hack alert!!
We make our holiday apple pie after picking in the fall, and then FREEZE the pie for Thanksgiving. Sometimes we also make one for Christmas.
Yes, we freeze the pie!
This helps to have a fabulous FRESH apple pie when needed.
And, the pie is baked when I have a bit more time, not trying to squeeze in trying to bake a pie when we are doing all the other holiday things. Right?
Thanksgiving time has a lot of cooking and baking going on, so the more you can do ahead, the better.
You can find my delicious apple pie recipe right here. (This was one of my first posts a while back so no judgment! You’ll still get a delicious apple pie!!)
Honestly, I cannot ever get enough apples and pumpkins through the fall. I add both to everything!
