Having easy, delicious gluten-free snacks on hand is KEY to keeping everyone happy.
Ready to give a boost to your family snacks?
Loading up on sugary snacks is not the best idea as sugar reduces our immune function and causes an imbalance in the body – not what we want right now when we need to stay healthy.
What snacks are you keeping in your pantry?
Grab some of these easy gluten-free snack ideas so you can satisfy your cravings all day.
Fruits & Veggies
Of course, I’ll start with a nutritious and easy snack! Having fresh fruits and veggies on hand will allow your family to choose these over a big bag of chips or a piece of cake.
How to get the kids to eat them? The trick is to have them ready to go – meaning that you have then peeled and cut up in a container in the fridge, ready to eat. Dip them in hummus, guacamole, or your favorite dressing.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes and Beets
Craving something sweet? Then this snack is for you. Peel and chop fresh sweet potatoes and beets. Toss them in olive or coconut oil and roast for 20-40 minutes (ovens vary) at 375°. Sprinkle with sea salt to enjoy warm or cold. Simply leave them in the fridge to pull out when you want a snack. Satisfying and filling.
Olives
These tasty little morsels are a delicious dose of healthy fat and very satisfying. Enjoy plain or dipped in hummus, guacamole, or your favorite dressing.
Lundberg Thin Stackers
Our family loves these rice cakes! They’re a great snack and even make a fabulous sandwich for lunch. Get creative and top them with a variety of toppings. Our favorites: avocado, sunbutter, or hummus and tomatoes.
Dates & Coconut
Two healthy treats mixed together make a fabulous little treat. Mix up dates and coconut with a pinch of sea salt to create a basic date ball. You can add in just about any other ingredient to change these up multiple ways. Check out our Carrot Cake Date Balls for a quick and easy recipe.
No dates? Check out these Pumpkin Oat Balls for a delicious alternative!
Fit Joy Grain-Free Pretzels
Fit Joy Pretzels have quickly become a favorite snack in our house. They are a healthier choice when it comes to gluten-free pretzels . . .and . . . one of my favorite snacks for watching Netflix!
Healthy Hot Cacao
On these cooler rainy days, a cup of healthy hot chocolate is just the trick. Your kids won’t realize you have just given them a healthy treat. Superfood cacao is full of nutrition your body needs while enjoying a chocolaty treat. Grab the recipe right here.
Healthy Chocolate Pudding
Craving chocolate? This is another easy creamy chocolate, gluten-free snack. Your kids won’t even realize they just ate something healthy! Mix it up right here to surprise them with a tasty treat they will absolutely love. (The trick is blending the avocados down so there are no chunks!) You won’t believe how creamy and delicious this is!
One extra idea: Leftovers
Leftovers make a great snack- especially for the teens in your house!
