My typical teaching breakfast used to be a bagel loaded with cream cheese with a large coffee. I thought it was delicious.  Yet, I typically felt terrible afterward and was starving by 10 am.


Possibly, not the best choice, right?

As a healthier start, would a smoothie fill you up at breakfast?  I didn’t think so, and boy was I wrong!


By drinking a breakfast smoothie, you can gain more focus, have more energy, and continue to feel full until lunchtime, or beyond.  Give it a try!

Get creative and try a bunch of different combinations to find one you love. A favorite here is kale, avocado, pineapple, ginger, and coconut milk – so refreshing.

Choose your favorite gluten-free bread or waffle.  Smash ½ an avocado in a bowl and spread it over your choice of gluten-free bread. Sprinkle with turmeric and sea salt.  Add in sautéed greens or an egg over the top for more energy.

Start with plain, unsweetened coconut or Greek yogurt. Add in your own fresh fruit with granola or nuts.  Top with cinnamon.
